“Seasoned firewood” - this is a very broad statement. People season their wood in very different ways and certainly with a very different result. Many people will season it “in the round”, which means that it will only be split before it is delivered. This has a very different result to seasoning your firewood in split form, as we do, because the surface area is massively increased, therefore achieving a lower moisture content faster.

Cubic metre, Pickup load or per ton?! There are a lot of different ways of quantifiying firewood. The only fair way is to state the volume (normally per cubic metre) and the moisture content, which is a percentage. Per ton is probably the worst way as the higher the moisture content, the smaller the load. A “pickup” or “tipper van” are a less than accurate way of measuring a volume as they are not all made the same.

CAUTION!!!!
These are cubic metre bags. Please do not confuse them with a ‘builders bag’, a ‘dumpy bag’ or a ton bag. They can be as small as half a cubic metre!!! See this comparison in the pictures above.
